Shape circularity across an international manufacturing group

How do you turn circularity ambitions into measurable progress across an international group, while respecting the autonomy and entrepreneurial strength of its businesses?

Royal Terberg Group is looking for an experienced Circularity & Sustainability Project Manager. You will translate our sustainability ambitions into practical programmes and initiatives across an international, decentralized manufacturing organization.

You combine a structured consulting approach with an understanding of engineering, manufacturing and organizational change. You know how to create direction and consistency while leaving room for local ownership and entrepreneurship.

About Royal Terberg Group

Royal Terberg Group is an international family-owned company with more than 155 years of entrepreneurship. We develop, manufacture and service specialist vehicles and industrial equipment that help businesses and public organisations transport goods and materials reliably, safely and sustainably.

Operating through 55 legal entities across 19 countries and employing more than 4,000 people worldwide, we combine international scale with the long-term perspective and entrepreneurial spirit of a family business.

At Terberg, our values guide the way we work:

  • We Deliver What We Promise
  • We Take Ownership
  • We Grow Stronger Together
  • We Shape Tomorrow

Your Assignment

Your primary assignment is to accelerate Royal Terberg Group’s sustainability agenda, with a strong focus on circularity and sustainable manufacturing.

You will help develop a practical approach to circularity and translate strategic ambitions into initiatives for products, materials, production processes, service activities and value chains.

Our businesses operate in different markets and vary in sustainability maturity. You will identify where a common Group approach adds value and where local expertise and ownership should lead. In addition, you will manage sustainability projects and contribute to effective ESG reporting and data processes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the circularity agenda

  • Help shape and implement Royal Terberg Group’s approach to circularity.
  • Translate circular economy principles into practical opportunities for products, materials, production processes, services and value chains.
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives that are relevant to an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Develop approaches that can be scaled or adapted across different businesses.
  • Establish clear objectives and methods for measuring progress.

Lead sustainability projects

  • Lead complex projects within the Group’s sustainability roadmap.
  • Translate strategic objectives into project plans, governance, responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across legal entities, countries and corporate functions.
  • Monitor progress, risks and dependencies and ensure agreed actions are delivered.
  • Balance Group-wide consistency with the circumstances and maturity of individual businesses.

Strengthen reporting and data processes

  • Contribute to Group-wide sustainability reporting processes.
  • Coordinate the collection, validation and consolidation of sustainability information.
  • Support compliance with applicable requirements, including CSRD and ESRS.
  • Improve data ownership, controls and reporting processes.
  • Translate reporting outcomes into management information and improvement priorities.

Create alignment across the Group

  • Work closely with businesses and functions including Finance, Legal, HR and Procurement.
  • Bring together different priorities and levels of sustainability maturity.
  • Determine which topics require Group-wide direction and which are best owned locally.
  • Facilitate decisions, clarify responsibilities and build commitment to agreed solutions.
  • Share relevant knowledge and good practices across the organization.

Support decision-making

  • Monitor developments in sustainability, circularity, manufacturing and ESG regulation.
  • Assess their relevance for Royal Terberg Group and translate them into practical guidance.
  • Prepare recommendations, decision papers and management information.
  • Advise stakeholders on circularity and sustainability priorities.
  • Support or represent the Group Sustainability Manager when required.

Your Background

You bring:

  • A relevant master’s degree, preferably in engineering, industrial engineering, sustainability, environmental sciences or a comparable technical or scientific field.
  • Approximately 7 to 15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A background in strategy, sustainability, operations or transformation consulting.
  • Experience with manufacturing, automotive, mobility, engineering or other industrial organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex, cross-functional projects and change initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of circularity, sustainability strategies, ESG frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of CSRD and ESRS, including experience translating requirements into workable processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with sustainability data and reporting.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, mainly within Europe.

Experience in both consulting and an engineering or manufacturing organization is an advantage. Dutch language skills are also considered an advantage.

We Are Looking for Someone Who

  • Structures complex challenges and translates analysis into practical implementation.
  • Understands how products are designed, manufactured, used, maintained and recovered.
  • Can influence senior, technical and operational stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
  • Creates common direction while respecting local autonomy and entrepreneurship.
  • Takes ownership, follows through on commitments and focuses on measurable progress.
  • Communicates complex sustainability topics clearly and credibly.

What We Offer
