The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global partnership to make palm oil sustainable. Today, the RSPO is a global, non-profit organisation with over 6,000 voluntary members across 104 countries and territories, representing every link in the supply chain: oil palm producers, palm oil processors and traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and social or developmental NGOs.

At RSPO, we believe that our success is built by the passion, dedication, skills, and expertise of our people. They are the ones who drive our organisation to new heights and guide us through the next phase of our development.

The Executive, Climate Change (GHG/Peat) supports RSPO’s efforts to advance climate action in the palm oil sector, in line with the RSPO Principles & Criteria (P&C) 2024. The P&C requires RSPO members to identify, monitor, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and to minimise the environmental impacts of oil palm cultivation, including those associated with peatland management.

These requirements encompass identifying, managing, conserving, and reducing impacts from peatlands (Criterion 7.7) and GHG emissions (Criterion 7.10), across both existing operations and new developments.

The Executive will assist the Manager, Climate Change (GHG/Peat) in overseeing the development, enhancement, and implementation of RSPO standards, guidance, and procedures related to GHG and peatland management. The role also contributes to maintaining RSPO’s climate tools and frameworks (such as PalmGHG), aligning them with international best practices and frameworks including those of the IPCC, GHG Protocol, SBTi, as well as emerging standards on nature and land-use disclosures, in supporting members in meeting RSPO’s climate-related requirements.
