The Role

This is a Senior Business Analyst/Product role with a clear pathway to being a Product Manager. You’ll work closely with the CEO, COO, Customer Operations, Tech Lead and Engineering team to help shape product direction, define priorities, own the backlog and drive delivery outcomes across a growing product ecosystem.


The role is highly hands-on. You’ll be expected to get into the detail: writing requirements, refining tickets, attending stand-ups, working through workflows, and helping engineering teams deliver clearly defined outcomes.


This is not a pure strategy role, as time grows, the role will evolve into broader ownership of the product function and roadmap, but for now, this role will suits someone who enjoys owning and refining a backlog, operating close to the product and deep in the weeds of detail, collaborating daily with engineers and customers, and helping drive outcomes. This is an integration-heavy environment with complex API ecosystems, where key decisions surround build vs integrate.



Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring readiness and prioritisation
  • Lead sprint ceremonies including planning, refinement, and reviews
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead to align scope and delivery sequencing
  • Support product decisions including build vs integrate considerations
  • Validate and test sprint deliverables, and authorise release to market
  • Maintain strong delivery discipline through Jira and documentation
  • Nurture and grow existing client partnerships


About You

  • You have experience as a Business Analyst and you have owned and managed a backlog
  • You must have experience working in a startup or small business environment.
  • You’ve worked for a software development company or have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and product delivery environments.
  • You’re happy getting hands-on with analysis, workflows, tickets, spreadsheets, and delivery detail
  • You are comfortable operating in an ambiguous startup environment as the sole BA
  • You know how to prioritise effectively and balance customer needs, business outcomes, and delivery constraints
  • You don't need to be technical, but you’re comfortable discussing APIs, workflows, and integrations with technical teams
  • You know how to build rapport with engineers
  • You’re collaborative and work well in non-hierarchical teams
