About Climita


Climita is a climate tech venture by Rookridge Ventures, building next generation infrastructure for carbon markets.


We are developing a trusted platform that helps carbon credits become more transparent, verifiable, accessible, and tradeable, with a strong focus on underserved markets, smaller project developers, and emerging economies.


Our goal is to solve one of the biggest challenges in carbon markets, lack of trust. Climita brings together carbon market expertise, digital MRV, blockchain enabled traceability, and marketplace infrastructure to make carbon credit creation and trading more credible, efficient, and inclusive.


The Role


We are looking for a Carbon Market Compliance and Policy Co Founder to join Climita at an early stage.


This is a founding role for someone who deeply understands carbon market regulation, verification standards, MRV requirements, and climate policy. You will help shape the compliance foundation of the platform and work closely with the product and technology teams to make sure Climita is built around real market rules, not just technology hype.


You will play a critical role in turning complex carbon market standards into practical product features, workflows, verification processes, and operating models.


What You Will Do


  • Lead Climita’s carbon market compliance and policy strategy.
  • Translate carbon credit rules, MRV requirements, and verification standards into clear product and platform requirements.
  • Guide the product and technology teams on how carbon credit projects should be registered, verified, tracked, tokenised, and traded.
  • Help design workflows aligned with standards such as Verra, Gold Standard, ICVCM, ISO 14064, Article 6, VCMI, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Support the development of Climita’s digital MRV, verification, credit integrity, and registry integration approach.
  • Work with project developers, verification bodies, registries, regulators, buyers, and climate finance partners.
  • Help define compliant pilot use cases for carbon credit issuance, digital MRV, and tokenised environmental assets.
  • Shape Climita’s market positioning as a credible, policy aware, and regulation ready carbon market infrastructure platform.
  • Support fundraising, partnerships, accelerator applications, and strategic conversations where carbon market credibility is critical.
  • Act as the bridge between climate policy, carbon finance, product, and technology.


Who You Are


  • You have strong experience in carbon markets, climate policy, MRV, or carbon credit compliance.
  • You understand how carbon credits are created, validated, verified, issued, retired, and traded.
  • You are familiar with major voluntary carbon market standards, including Verra, Gold Standard, ICVCM, VCMI, ISO 14064, and Article 6.
  • You can translate complex policy and compliance language into practical business and product requirements.
  • You have a strong understanding of carbon project lifecycles, methodologies, registries, verification bodies, and buyer expectations.
  • You are comfortable working with founders, product teams, developers, and external stakeholders.
  • You are strategic, commercially minded, and excited by the opportunity to build climate market infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Experience with digital MRV, blockchain, tokenisation, climate finance, or carbon marketplaces would be a strong advantage.
