A leading international law firm is seeking a senior lawyer to join its Environmental team in a regional UK office. This is a key strategic hire, offering the opportunity to step into a visible role with a strong focus on climate change and sustainability.
The Role
You will work closely with senior lawyers across the environmental practice, supporting a mix of regulatory advisory and transactional/drafting work.
The role will involve:
- Advising on environmental regulation, particularly in the climate change and sustainability space
- Drafting and negotiating complex commercial and project documentation
- Supporting major infrastructure and consenting projects
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers across multiple regional offices
- Collaborating on cross-office UK and international matters
The Work

- Climate change and sustainability initiatives
- Natural capital projects, including habitat banks and biodiversity schemes
- Conservation covenants and evolving regulatory frameworks
- Waste, batteries and wider environmental regulatory regimes
- Large-scale infrastructure, energy and water resource projects
Candidate Requirements
- Significant UK experience in environmental law with demonstrable experience in climate change and sustainability
- Ability to deliver both regulatory advice and hands-on contractual drafting
- Experience with major infrastructure or consenting work is advantageous
- Comfortable taking on a supervisory role within a junior team
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-office, collaborative environment
