Environmental Lawyer - Regional


A leading international law firm is seeking a senior lawyer to join its Environmental team in a regional UK office. This is a key strategic hire, offering the opportunity to step into a visible role with a strong focus on climate change and sustainability.


The Role


You will work closely with senior lawyers across the environmental practice, supporting a mix of regulatory advisory and transactional/drafting work.


The role will involve:

  • Advising on environmental regulation, particularly in the climate change and sustainability space
  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial and project documentation
  • Supporting major infrastructure and consenting projects
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers across multiple regional offices
  • Collaborating on cross-office UK and international matters

  • Natural capital projects, including habitat banks and biodiversity schemes
  • Conservation covenants and evolving regulatory frameworks

Candidate Requirements


  • Significant UK experience in environmental law with demonstrable experience in climate change and sustainability
  • Ability to deliver both regulatory advice and hands-on contractual drafting
  • Experience with major infrastructure or consenting work is advantageous
  • Comfortable taking on a supervisory role within a junior team
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-office, collaborative environment
