We are looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our ROCKWOOL PQE team in Ploiesti


You will report to QSHE Manager and you will be responsible for our 2nd production line in our Ploiesti factory

This is the role

  • Maintain the site Health & Safety system and ensure compliance with Romanian law and Rockwool Group standards.
  • Lead risk assessments (JHA/TRA) and implement required control measures.
  • Prepare and update annual prevention & protection and training plans, PPE policy and related records.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response and evacuation plans.
  • Manage incident investigations, accident records and reporting; coordinate communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce safe‑work instructions, deliver machine‑safety training and issue work permits/visitor safety briefings.
  • Organise mandatory safety training (fire protection, first aid, forklift/crane/excavator, hazardous substances, etc.).
  • Arrange periodic medical checks and keep training and medical records up to date.
  • Procure, inspect and manage safety equipment and PPE stock.
  • Coordinate workplace safety testing (electrical, microclimate, noise) and run evacuation drills.
  • Convene the Health & Safety Committee, prepare minutes and track action plans.
  • Support internal/external audits and prepare statutory and Group H&S reports.
  • Provide regular H&S information to managers and support continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Mining). Additional studies specifically in occupational health & safety are an advantage.
  • Computer skills (SAP is an advantage).
  • Solid knowledge of Romanian occupational health & safety legislation.
  • Certification as an occupational health & safety specialist from an 80‑ or 120‑hour accredited course.
  • Postgraduate course in risk assessment of at least 180 hours.
  • Technical Fire Safety (PSI) training and certification is an advantage.
  • Internal or external auditor certification for OHSAS 18001 (recent ISO 9001, ISO 14001 experience is an advantage).
  • Fluent Romanian and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to work independently, methodical approach, good communication, teamwork, flexibility, willingness to learn and develop, and initiative.
