Cost Accountant
Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Solon, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in accounting and financial analysis within the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing cost accounting processes, supporting budgeting efforts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Oversee cost accounting operations, including cost analysis and inventory management.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Assist with budgeting processes and provide insightful financial forecasts.
- Manage accounts payable and ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
- Perform cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the Controller to support financial reporting and analysis.
- Conduct detailed reviews of financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Utilize ERP systems, such as Epicor, to streamline accounting processes and maintain data integrity.
- Provide support during audits and assist in preparing required documentation. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing sector.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Epicor or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and inventory management.
- Experience in month-end and year-end closings and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
