Cost Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing costs within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost control. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in cost accounting principles and demonstrate proficiency with Oracle and advanced Excel tools. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs to ensure accuracy and identify areas for optimization.
- Develop and maintain standard cost accounting systems to support financial reporting.
- Perform cost analysis to evaluate production expenses and assess profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost efficiency and streamline processes.
- Utilize Oracle software to maintain accurate cost accounting records and financial data.
- Prepare detailed reports on cost trends and present findings to management.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support audits by providing relevant cost accounting information and documentation
- Manufacturing Experience: Hands-on exposure to production environments.
- Standard Cost Expertise: Deep understanding of cost accounting principles.
- Excel Mastery: Advanced skills to manipulate large data sets.
- Systems Knowledge: Oracle experience a plus (we'll train on Alteryx).
- Compliance: Must be a U.S. Citizen (ITAR regulations).

- BS in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years in a manufacturing cost accounting role.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting practices and principles.
- Proficiency in Oracle software for cost accounting tasks.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and related cost structures.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
