Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining cost accounting systems, supporting inventory controls, and providing financial insight to improve operational performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead. Based on general knowledge.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations and ensure accuracy of inventory valuation. Based on general knowledge.
  • Monitor manufacturing variances and investigate discrepancies related to production, labor, and materials. Based on general knowledge.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting. Based on general knowledge.
  • Partner with plant and operations leaders to evaluate production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings. Based on general knowledge.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities related to manufacturing operations. Based on general knowledge.
  • Review bills of materials, routings, and work orders for accuracy. Based on general knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards. Based on general knowledge.
  • Prepare ad hoc cost analysis and management reports as needed. Based on general knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Based on general knowledge.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting preferred. Based on general knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis. Based on general knowledge.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Based on general knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Based on general knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and operations teams. Based on general knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is a plus. Based on general knowledge.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Based on general knowledge.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft D365, or similar systems
