Cost Accountant
Description Cost Accountant opportunity available with our Melville client. In this role, you will focus on overseeing and analyzing cost structures within a manufacturing environment to support financial planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting and a proven ability to manage complex financial data with precision. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and monitor cost structures to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare detailed cost analysis reports to support financial decisions and strategies.
- Maintain and update standard cost systems to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to assess production costs and optimize processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all cost-related activities.
- Review and reconcile discrepancies in cost data to maintain accurate financial records.
- Develop forecasts and budgets based on cost analysis findings.
- Support audits and provide documentation for cost-related inquiries.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to management for strategic planning.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data and preparing detailed reports.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost structures.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
