Description Cost Accountant opportunity available with our Melville client. In this role, you will focus on overseeing and analyzing cost structures within a manufacturing environment to support financial planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting and a proven ability to manage complex financial data with precision. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and monitor cost structures to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed cost analysis reports to support financial decisions and strategies.
  • Maintain and update standard cost systems to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to assess production costs and optimize processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all cost-related activities.
  • Review and reconcile discrepancies in cost data to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Develop forecasts and budgets based on cost analysis findings.
  • Support audits and provide documentation for cost-related inquiries.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to management for strategic planning.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data and preparing detailed reports.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost structures.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
