Cost Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and analyzing costs to support operational efficiency and profitability. This position requires expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and familiarity with JD Edwards systems. Note: This is an in-office position with great flexibility (starting/ending times). Base pay range is $85K to $100K plus bonus. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and manage cost data using JD Edwards systems to ensure accurate reporting and decision-making.
- Apply process costing methodologies to allocate direct and indirect costs effectively.
- Prepare detailed cost forecasts, variance analyses, and management reports to support financial planning.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost allocation.
- Implement and maintain cost accounting controls that comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely cost data.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization within the organization.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics to drive efficiency and profitability.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in JD Edwards systems and process costing techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with inventory valuation and cost allocation processes.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in cost accounting.
