Description Are you ready to make an impact in manufacturing accounting? Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is seeking a motivated Cost Accountant for our client in Fernley, NV. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering room for growth-including training to back up the Controller. If you thrive in a hands-on environment and want to take ownership of inventory, production analysis, and cost management, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily production reports and monitor inventory control, including periodic physical inventory counts
  • Maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile bank statements
  • Assist in the monthly preparation of financial statements
  • Manage sales and use tax filings, government surveys, and other compliance reporting
  • Conduct variance analyses (actuals vs. budget, standard vs. average cost)
  • Track raw materials and finished goods inventory
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (strong computer coursework preferred)
  • At least 3 years' experience in manufacturing accounting (general ledger, reconciling, tax filing, budgeting)
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel (including pivot tables and macros)
  • Familiarity with MS Word, MS Access IV, and MS Dynamics (Oracle experience a plus)
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new accounting software
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting principles
  • Willingness and ability to perform hands-on inventory counts in warehouse and production settings
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to communicate with production and finance teams
