About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Disaster Resilience Infrastructure to play a key role in teaching excellence, impactful research, and academic leadership within the School of Engineering.
This role is well-suited to an academic who is passionate about infrastructure resilience, climate adaptation, and natural hazard mitigation, and who values collaboration, mentoring, and real-world impact.
You will contribute to and lead high-quality research aligned with the School’s priority areas, including:

- Climate change adaptation and mitigation

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Education
- Design, deliver and continuously improve engaging, inclusive and student-centred teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs
- Design and moderate assessment and integrate feedback from course evaluation and student outcomes
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and quality assurance
- Lead and contribute to high-quality, nationally recognised research programs
- Build and mentor collaborative research teams
- Secure competitive external research funding
- Publish research outputs in high-quality outlets
- Supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates
- Contribute to School, College and University governance and strategy
- Provide academic leadership and mentoring to early-career colleagues
- Manage academic programs or portfolios as required
You will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, academic leadership and collaborative capability, along with a commitment to inclusive education and research impact.
You Will Demonstrate
- Expertise in infrastructure resilience related to natural hazards (floods, geohazards) and climate change
- Experience delivering and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate programs
- Ability to manage large programs or multiple smaller programs
- A growing or established nationally recognised research profile
- Proven research leadership, including team development and grant success
- Experience supervising HDR candidates
- Strong people leadership skills, including mentoring and supporting academic staff
- Sound understanding of governance, quality and financial management in a university setting
- High-level communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
