Responsibilities:
  • Working manager role to battery analysis team consisting of both thermal and structural analysis.
  • Manage direct hire and contract resources.
  • Coordinate incoming job requests with requestor and analysis group
  • Manage analysis task tracking in Jira
  • Standardize and document analysis procedures, methodologies, and reporting.
  • Review reports for accuracy, completeness, and quality of work
  • Manage model repository in AWS
  • Perform durability and crash/impact analysis of battery using finite element tools including Optistruct, Abaqus, LS Dyna, and Hyperview/META.
  • Profile generation for battery system testing
  • Deliver correlated 1D Battery Thermal Model to Attributes and BMS Algorithms teams.
  • Coordinate with vehicle analysis teams for analysis ownership alignments and software upkeep, methodologies, and reporting synergy.
  • Coordinate with materials group to build materials cards for analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum BS with 7+ years, MS with 5+ years or PhD with 3+ years in mechanical engineering or similar field.
  • Experience in Optistruct, Abaqus, Hyperview/META, and LS-Dyna, with application to automotive structures.
  • Strong academic background in solid mechanics, materials, and structural analysis.
  • Experience with CATIA, experience with FEA model building from CAD data.
  • Design and development of component and sub-system tests.
  • Experience of preparing formal reports summarizing analysis results.
  • Knowledge of material properties associated with automotive structures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • A strong understanding of the first-principal physics of automotive body structures and energy management.
  • Knowledge of automotive design, development processes, and system requirements.
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $137,800.00 - $172,200.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
