Role Summary:

Our Test and Development Driver team is expanding. We are looking for skilled Vehicle Operators to join us that focus on various engineering program testing, data collection, mileage accumulation and many other systems testing. In this role you will be responsible for evaluating, documenting, and providing feedback to our engineering teams. Operating/Testing our prototype vehicles will be the fundamental aspect of this role. There will be times in which you will be working directly with an engineer in the vehicle while performing a testing scenario.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate test vehicles in a wide range of testing conditions.

  • Follow detailed instructions for vehicle and component preparation to begin testing.

  • This may include but is not limited to full visual inspection of the vehicle including tires, glass, body panels and interior.

  • Checking all vehicle fluids, air pressure, and function of components.

  • Collect data through various data acquisition systems and communicate in accordance with customer protocol.

  • Document tests, repairs, and configurations in descriptive and understandable notes.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) including a background check, and an onsite Vehicle Operator testing examination with or Sr. Driving Instructor.

  • Able to drive safely in various conditions up to 8 hours/day.

  • Follow policies and take ownership for working safely to avoid risks to self and others .

  • Be prepared to work weekends and or overtime, if test validation is necessary.

  • Be highly organized, dedicated to assignments and committed to safety.

  • Must be able to understand and operate current electronic office equipment (PC hardware and Google Suite software (Gmail/Docs/Sheets) and interface with data collection devices.

  • Able to work cooperatively in a diverse and challenging environment.

  • Have good command of the English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.

  • An Associate degree with an emphasis in Automotive or related field a Plus.

  • A clean motor vehicle driving record is necessary.

  • Flexible and receptive to new requests.

  • Minimum age of 21

  • No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period)

  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years

  • No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years

  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle

  • Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Vehicle Operators highly preferred to have Middle Class Plus Training from the Toyota Arizona Proving Ground or equivalent is a plus.
  • Driver highly preferred to have Level 1,2,3,4 Performance Driver Training qualifications from an accredited Driver Training Facility, and or Proving Ground.
  • Knowledge/experience with Atlassian Software (Jira, Confluence) is a plus.
  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL is a plus.
