About Us:
Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary:
As a Riv-4 level Technical Program Manager in the Electrical Hardware team, you will play a critical cross-functional role managing the execution and delivery of next-gen vehicle electronics projects—including advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) sensors, electronic control units (ECUs), vehicle displays, and audio systems. This is an entry-level, early-career position ideal for a new graduate passionate about automotive technology, system integration, and growing as a technical leader.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the cross-functional project life cycle for assigned electrical hardware subsystems—such as ADAS sensors (camera, radar, lidar), ECUs (vehicle controllers, domain modules), digital displays, and premium audio hardware.
  • Drive milestone alignment, risk tracking, and schedule execution for both in-house development and supplier-delivered components from early concept through launch (including requirements definition, design, DV/PV builds, validation, and manufacturing cut-in).
  • Guide day-to-day collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, design, reliability, supplier quality, purchasing, and validation teams to resolve issues and remove obstacles.
  • Proactively identify and track critical program risks, design changes, open issues, and timing dependencies across hardware, software, and integration working groups.
  • Lead regular program reviews with domain partners, document and communicate status to a range of stakeholders, and ensure transparency on progress, blockers, and decisions.
  • Manage supplier engagement, including schedules, part maturity (EVT/DVT/PVT), DVP&R, PPAP, and ramp plans, working closely with Rivian’s electrical hardware and supply chain engineers.
  • Own and update program dashboards, issue trackers, and action logs; escalate when needed to maintain critical paths for major vehicle milestones.
  • Support the ramp, onboarding, and best practice development for new hires and early-career TPMs in the hardware team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Exposure to product development cycles for electronics, mechatronics, or automotive systems via internship, research, or capstone experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated track record of problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills—ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and adjust to fast-paced change.
  • Highly organized: can drive multiple concurrent projects and keep granular task-level details clear.
  • Proactive self-starter, curious, and eager to learn and grow as a program leader.
  • Familiarity with core project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite) is a plus.
