Senior Analytics Engineer

The Enterprise Data & Analytics team empowers executive leaders and functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, HR, Commercial, and Service, to make informed, data-driven decisions at Rivian. We achieve this by developing strategic data solutions, crafting clear and concise reports, and designing intuitive visualizations and self-service analytics tools.
In this highly visible role, you will support Rivian’s management reporting suite and work on developing high profile dashboards for the CFO and the senior leadership team across the company. A successful candidate will have expertise in data visualization best practices, ability to translate high level requirements into intuitive dashboards, passion for storytelling with data, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of business intelligence tools and technologies. You will also partner with non-Finance business units and build strong relationships with internal data owners and technical teams across the organization.
Responsibilities:- Drive data democratization by building and automating “single source of truth” centralized dashboards, data models and SQL scripts for key executive stakeholders, including the CEO, CFO and CSO.
- Contribute to our code-based data transformations (with SQL, dbt, Databricks) to provide user-facing analytics tables
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders in Finance, Accounting, People, Facilities etc. to define key metrics, analyze data, build robust data models and develop data driven solutions
- Convert ambiguous business requests into technical requirements
- Drive projects from inception to delivery ensuring that your data solutions deliver reliable data and actionable insights to intelligently grow Rivian’s business
- Foster a culture of excellence within the analytics community by promoting best practices in data pipelines, dashboards, code review, and core data concepts.
- Be the SME on data and visualization best practices for business stakeholders and deliver trainings for business analysts to bridge the gap between data and business understanding
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, analytics, or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree preferred
- 5+ years of analytics focused experience
- Advanced proficiency in SQL
- Experience with DBT and data transformation; experience using version-controlled workflows is a plus
- Experience with one or more programming language (Python, R etc.) to deliver or manage data pipelines
- Strong proficiency developing data visualizations using more than one of Hex, Tableau, Power BI
- Strong attention to detail and experience collaborating across multiple technical and non-technical teams
- Strong communicator, adept at presenting technical solutions to senior stakeholders and building relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders
