Our engineering team plays a crucial role in this mission by creating applications that coordinate all activities with our suppliers, ensuring we have the materials needed to manufacture our groundbreaking vehicles.


Supply Chain Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to join our diverse team. The successful candidate will provide guidance on best practices, maintain standards, and work with the team to establish and execute plans on the most impactful items. You will take on special projects to improve the developer experience and enhance our existing platform's maintainability. This role will directly support our supply chain by building applications that serve both internal and external users, contributing to the timely delivery of parts to the production line and improving overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the engineering team on best practices and maintaining ambitious standards.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an Agile framework.
  • Establish and implement standards and plans for executing high-impact projects.
  • Deliver complex services end-to-end, addressing scalability, performance, high availability, maintainability, and observability.
  • Enhance developer experience by undertaking special projects aimed at improving platform maintainability.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams, onboarding instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Foster modern DevOps processes within and outside the team to enhance site reliability and high availability.
  • Identify and resolve critical high-profile escalations, establish playbooks, and document root cause analyses.
  • Independently navigate through ambiguity and less-defined requirements while serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Solve significantly difficult problems, providing new perspectives or ideas on existing issues.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple programs, initiatives, and projects.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with expertise in TypeScript, React, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps processes and practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to teach others through clear documentation and diagrams.
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in an environment with ambiguous and less-defined requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in solving complex problems and providing innovative solutions.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience with the Amplify framework.
  • Experience with AWS CDK for serverless applications.
  • Familiarity with supply chain applications and their impact on production efficiency.
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: 171,000 USD - 213,000 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
