Sr. Staff CAD & CAE Methods Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative CAD and CAE Methods Engineer. In this role, you will leverage Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Twin concepts, to drive efficiency, enhance quality, and accelerate the development of next-generation vehicles. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming traditional design and simulation processes into integrated, data-driven workflows, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and sustainability.
Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Advanced Digital Engineering Methods: You will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced CAD and CAE methods to optimize vehicle design and engineering processes.
- Deploy Generative Design and AI-Powered Engineering: Apply generative design and AI-powered engineering workflows to assess, and refine designs based on KPI’s including weight, cost, and manufacturability.
- Leverage AI/Machine Learning for CAD and CAE workflow optimization: Identify, develop and deploy algorithms to drive faster design and simulation cycles.
- Develop automations and related methods to ensure CAD/CAE data cohesion and integrity.
- Partner and collaborate cross-functionally by working closely with functional domain design & release engineers, vehicle attribute teams, test engineers, product planners, and other stakeholders to define and implement design and simulation projects
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Proactively identify, implement and champion new modeling and simulation tools, techniques, and methodologies to continuously enhance accuracy, efficiency, and innovation within product development processes.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems), Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in CAD/CAE, simulation, digital engineering, or a related role within the automotive, aerospace, or similar industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert level proficiencyin using Dassault Systèmes 3DExperience PLM and CATIA for design and engineering
- Expert level proficiency in CAE Simulation using SIMULIA for structural, thermal, fluid dynamics, and multiphysics analysis.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, MATLAB, Simulink, or C/C++
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data analysis, data science, machine learning, and AI algorithms.
- Familiarity with automotive engineering disciplines including aerodynamics, structural integrity, NVH, thermal management, crash safety, and electrification.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical insights and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset for continuous learning and passion for staying up-to-date with the latest simulation and AI industry technologies.
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $196,000-$245,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
