Role Summary:
As an Inventory Manager, you are responsible for overall inventory control, counts and reconciliation responsibilities in compliance with Rivian’s SOX Narrative for the Service Distribution Center. You will manage a group of inventory specialists who perform various tasks to maintain inventory accuracy targets and quality control. Scope of your team includes cycle counting, storage utilization optimization, quality control, reconciliation and to follow multi-step instructions to meet inventory count processes. You will partner with supervisors and process leads to be the technical expert in EWM transactions to clearly track and reconcile inventory to maintain inventory accuracy targets.
Responsibilities:
  • Fosters an environment in which safety is the highest priority, and coach safe powered equipment and material handling practices
  • Build a new inventory team within a greenfield site, leveraging existing processes developed within Rivian’s Global Parts Distribution network
  • Manage facility cycle count program to maintain accurate perpetual inventory and identify opportunities to improve inventory quality
  • Coordinate Inventory Control Activities (Daily Cycle Counts, Inventory Adjustments, and Root Cause Analysis)
  • Understand the impact of Inventory Adjustments on Profitability
  • Performs quality inspections on high risk materials upon receipt
  • Support resolution of inbound issues including supplier shipment, system interface, and transportation provider errors
  • Root cause and reconcile inventory, deep dive on specific items such as bill of material, material master set up, or inbound deliveries
  • Maintain standard work documentation, training, attendance, overtime, and process adherence
  • Monitor the system to ensure all transactions are actioned within required tolerances
  • Maintains an organized warehouse operation that focuses on housekeeping standards and applies 5S principles
  • Evaluates warehouse associate performance based on safe working behaviors, quality of work, productivity levels, and adherence to general standards and policies to provide constructive feedback
  • Identify best practices, process changes, operational issues/concerns, and general improvement opportunities and help develop system solutions to resolve
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse operations, distribution, or logistics environment
  • 3+ years of experience in in an inventory lead role, procurement or supply chain in a warehouse operations and distribution, or logistics environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field, or equivalent experience
  • Preferred BS/BA in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
  • Working knowledge in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Strong collaborator, with willingness to drive change cross functionally
  • SAP WM or EWM experience
  • Experience in leading and organizing teams with a proven track record of performance (preferred automotive/high-tech environment)
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with a focus on root cause investigations
  • Understanding and experience in implementing Continuous Improvement project initiatives
  • Required to lift material up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% within North America
