About the Role

Ripple Effect Consulting’s Operations team is seeking a Solar & BESS Technician I to support operations at our McFarland site in Dateland, AZ. In this hands-on role, you’ll be an essential part of the team ensuring our energy storage systems operate safely, efficiently, and above industry standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who enjoys working outdoors, tackling technical challenges, and contributing to the success of a collaborative field service team. This position offers significant room for professional growth as Ripple Effect Consulting continues to expand as one of the leading independent power producers in the renewable space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, corrective, and emergency maintenance for utility-scale and distribution-scale Energy Storage sites and substations.

  • Operate and maintain critical equipment such as inverters, transformers, battery modules, DC/AC collection and distribution systems, and associated control devices.

  • Prepare and execute switching and clearance orders safely and efficiently.

  • Conduct troubleshooting, electrical repair, and basic instrumentation calibration tasks as assigned.

  • Operate electrical and mechanical power plant systems while adhering to all safety and environmental standards.

  • Participate in ongoing training programs; some travel may be required.

  • Support vegetation management plans, including operating tractors, mowers, and other maintenance equipment as needed.

  • Draft and assist with operating procedures, plant orders, and related documentation.

  • Ensure all work complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong commitment to safety and willingness to help advance workplace safety standards.

  • Familiarity with electrical systems and standard safety practices (including LOTO and electrical safety).

  • Experience using computers and standard business software; familiarity with SCADA and CMMS systems is highly preferred.

  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to approach new challenges with creativity and initiative.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret and apply electrical or mechanical fundamentals.

  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Technical degree or certifications in Solar or Energy Storage (preferred).

  • Hands-on experience in energy storage system installation or maintenance is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed outdoors in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.

  • Regular activities include standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • May involve working around rotating equipment and energized systems.

  • Occasional overtime and travel to other sites as needed.

  • Must be able to pass random drug and alcohol testing as permitted by law.
