Position Overview

As REsuretys Senior Director, People and Legal, you will be responsible for the People Ops and Legal functions of our growing organization. Reporting directly to REsuretys COO, you will engage internal and external stakeholders across a variety of business needs, including commercial negotiations, employee lifecycle and people practices, IP and data protection, and other strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design an excellent employee experience from onboarding to growth, fostering a vibrant, inclusive culture.
• Drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and build a world-class team.
• Steer us through legal landscapes, ensuring compliance and protecting our organization.
• Negotiate and review contracts with clients, vendors, and other partners, including SaaS and data contracts, power purchase agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Build a robust risk management framework, safeguarding our future and turning potential threats into opportunities.
• Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate such changes to the appropriate stakeholders.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a mix of legal and people ops experience
• J.D. and admitted to at least one state bar
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Excellent communication skills, including experience negotiating commercial contracts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Experience working in a regulated industry or with regulated clients
• Experience negotiating SaaS contracts or renewable energy project transactions
• Combined law firm and in-house experience
• Contract Lifecycle Management system experience
• Passion for transitioning to a zero-carbon future

• REsurety is registered with the National Futures Association; this role may require registration with the NFA as an Associated Person.
• Location: Boston, MA
• Our organization works on a hybrid model. We are in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at our downtown Boston building, and remote work is optional on Wednesdays and Fridays.
