Opportunity

A rapidly growing renewable energy company is seeking a senior leader to oversee asset

management for a portfolio of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. The

organization develops, finances, constructs, owns, and operates large-scale clean energy

assets and is focused on long-term performance, reliability, and value creation.

Overview

The Vice President of Asset Management will be responsible for leading both the commercial

and technical performance of an operating portfolio of renewable energy assets, including

solar and battery storage. This position focuses on maximizing asset value, ensuring

compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations, and driving operational

improvements across the fleet. The role requires a combination of strategic leadership,

commercial insight, and technical expertise.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Build and lead a high-performing asset management team spanning commercial,

technical, analytics, and compliance functions

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize asset performance, increase revenue,

and reduce downtime

• Oversee annual planning, budgeting, and long-term portfolio strategy

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, finance, and

construction teams to support full asset lifecycle performance

Commercial Asset Management

• Manage power purchase agreements, settlements, renewable energy credit tracking,

and financial reporting

• Ensure adherence to all contractual obligations, including interconnection agreements,

service contracts, and vendor agreements

• Lead reporting efforts for investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders

• Oversee risk management activities, including insurance claims

Technical Asset Management

• Lead performance analysis, root cause investigations, and system optimization efforts

• Monitor key performance metrics, degradation trends, and benchmarking initiatives

• Manage warranty claims and coordinate with equipment manufacturers and service

providers

• Use data-driven insights to improve reliability and operational outcomes Operational Oversight

• Partner with operations and maintenance teams to ensure effective execution of

maintenance programs

• Work with data and control system teams to ensure system performance, data

integrity, and responsiveness

• Support compliance with grid operators and regulatory requirements

Financial & Portfolio Management

• Own operating budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement

• Support acquisitions and project evaluations through technical and commercial due

diligence

Qualifications and Experience

Required

• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, asset management, operations, or

project finance

• Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives

• Strong knowledge of energy markets, contracts, financial modeling, and regulatory

frameworks

• Technical understanding of solar and/or battery storage systems

• Experience managing third-party service providers and equipment suppliers

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Track record of improving processes and scaling teams

• Experience with asset management or performance monitoring software platforms

Preferred

• Experience with hybrid renewable and storage projects

• Familiarity with major U.S. energy markets and grid operators

• Exposure to control systems, performance analytics, and operational technologies

• Advanced degree in engineering, business, finance, or a related field
