Renewyx is working with a well-established solar energy firm that specializes in the design, development, and delivery of commercial and industrial PV systems across the Midwest. Known for their engineering-driven approach and commitment to long-term performance, they partner with a wide range of clients to bring complex solar projects from concept to commissioning. With a growing portfolio and a pipeline of active builds, theyre expanding their project management capacity to support continued execution excellence.
Theyre seeking an experienced project manager to serve as the owners representative on a high-visibility commercial solar installation in Columbus, OH. This is a 12-month contract role (up to 40 hours/week) where youll be responsible for overseeing third-party EPCs, ensuring milestone tracking, cost control, and schedule adherence throughout the project lifecycle. Ideal candidates will bring at least 2 years of solar project experience and a total of 5+ years in construction, with a proven ability to manage external vendors, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and drive results in the field.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a project from the front lines while representing a reputable solar firm with a strong project backlog and growing national presence. Youll gain exposure to complex solar scopes, collaborate with highly technical teams, and play a key role in delivering high-impact renewable infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- 2+ years of direct experience managing commercial solar PV installations
- 5+ years of total construction project management experience, ideally with electrical/mechanical scopes
- Experience serving as owners representative or third-party construction liaison on active job sites
- Proven ability to manage EPC firms, subcontractors, and permitting authorities
- Strong knowledge of NEC, utility interconnection processes, and solar QA/QC standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, construction drawings, and site plans
- Experience with construction scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Familiarity with RFI/submittal processes and document control best practices
- Comfortable leading progress meetings, updating stakeholders, and generating regular project reports
