RSI is an established Design Build Firm in the central valley that has a 20-year history in residential and commercial solar projects. Our goal is to grow our engineering services to tackle increasingly complex solar, battery, commercial electrical, and electrical infrastructure opportunities. Our first step is hiring an experienced technical engineer who is interested in growing our engineering services into a successful and profitable business line.

*Major Duties*

To succeed in this role, you must have strong leadership skills to mentor junior engineers, collaborate with project stakeholders, and work with company leadership to inform strategic decision. You must also have the technical skills necessary to guide the department through challenging engineering problems based on best value solutions that comply with code and building jurisdiction requirements. You will oversee engineering projects from bid through permitting and be prepared to assist the construction department throughout that phase.

Various duties may include, but are not limited to:

· Design, develop, and implement photovoltaic (PV), battery storage, commercial, and electrical infrastructure systems based on customer needs and contract obligations.

● Conduct site assessments and coordinate feasibility studies to determine best engineering solutions.

● Understand Engineering business models to include estimating and build programs to support the growth of the engineering department as a company profit center.

● Mentor engineers in preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for solar energy systems. This should include preparation of calculations including, but not limited to, load flow, grounding, protective device coordination, arc flash, ampacity or others as required.

● Understand nuances of power monitoring and control systems and design to meet project specifications.

● Supervise preparation of bill of materials and scope of work documents for construction

● Conduct cost/benefit analyses for various cable constructions, grounding schemes and major equipment.

● Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.

● Ensure compliance with all relevant industry and county standards and regulations.

● Perform site walks to better support design systems as required.

● Build systems that allow for the growth of junior engineers such as training, libraries etc.

* Requirements of the Position

● This is an in-person position. Remote optional.

● Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

● Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering.

● Deep knowledge of energy technologies.

● Experience in engineering 120V to 35KV

● Business mindset.

● Experience with design and development of energy systems, including site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance testing.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Experience managing remote teams.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.

● Experience working with and knowledge of National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code and NFPA 70E.

● Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD.

*Additional Requirements *

● Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

● Experience in electrical engineering scope listed in this position description.

● Professional Engineer P.E. License in California Preferred. (Stamping plans will impact salary opportunities

*Supervisory Controls*

The Electrical Engineering Manager is a critical piece of the RSI Construction team, will report to the department director. The Electrical Engineering Manager is expected to work 40-45 hours/week, with core hours being Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, and available to support non-standard Overtime hours as necessary.

*Evaluation Factors*

Electrical Engineering Manager will be evaluated based on project driven metrics, and their ability to successfully facilitate solar PV projects on time and within budget.

*Pay Scale*

Electrical Engineering Manager compensation will be at market rates, based on qualifications, currently estimated between $125,000 - $180,00
