- Design and develop civil and structural plans for solar, battery, and electrical infrastructure projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, access roads, and foundations.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and geotechnical reviews to assess site conditions and inform design decisions.
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and design reports for submittal to permitting authorities.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure multidisciplinary design integration.
- Review and stamp (if licensed) construction drawings for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
- Coordinate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to obtain permits and respond to plan check comments.
- Develop and maintain standard design libraries, templates, and civil detail sets to increase department efficiency.
- Support estimating and preconstruction teams with design input and value-engineering solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters, promoting professional growth and technical excellence.
- Understand Engineering business models to include estimating and build programs to support the growth of the engineering department as a company profit center.
- Perform site walks to better support design systems as required.
- Support construction operations with design clarifications, field modifications, and as-built reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
