Senior Business Development Manager – Corporate Renewable Energy & Sustainability
Renewabl is redefining how companies procure renewable energy. Our platform helps leading corporates and utilities buy and sell cost-effective renewable energy with real impact, and track their Carbon Free Energy score hourly.
We help customers move beyond annual certificates to hourly-matched renewable energy, improving ESG credibility, reducing risk, and preparing for emerging 24/7 clean energy standards. We’re scaling fast across the UK, Europe and beyond, and we’re building a commercial team to match our ambition.
We’re looking for a hunter-led, consultative sales professional to drive new business with corporate energy buyers across the UK and Europe.
This role will report into the Head of Commercial.
This is not a high-volume outbound role. You’ll work with a defined target market of corporate accounts, developing thoughtful, account-based sales strategies and leading complex sales cycles end-to-end. You’ll engage sustainability, energy procurement, and finance stakeholders to help them translate climate ambition into credible, cost-aware procurement decisions.
You’ll be an early commercial hire, working closely with the founders to shape how Renewabl goes to market.
- Own new business development for a defined set of target corporate accounts.
- Develop and execute account-based sales strategies for priority prospects, rather than broad outbound campaigns.
- Proactively open doors through tailored outreach, warm introductions, partners, and industry engagement.
- Lead consultative discovery conversations with sustainability leads, energy procurement managers, and finance stakeholders.
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from first meeting through to commercial close.
- Translate technical topics (hourly matching, PPAs, energy certificates, reporting standards) into clear business value around cost, risk, and ESG credibility.
- Build and refine early-stage sales playbooks, messaging, and deal strategies as part of a scaling commercial team.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and client success to shape Renewabl’s go-to-market approach.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management and forecasting in a low-volume, high-quality deal environment.
- Proven experience in hunter-led new business sales, ideally in B2B SaaS, energy, climate tech, or adjacent consultative services.
- Track record of self-sourcing and closing complex deals with enterprise or upper mid-market customers.
- Comfort selling into multi-stakeholder buying groups, including sustainability, procurement, and finance.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and credibly.
- Confidence operating in a fast-moving startup environment, with ambiguity and evolving processes.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset - comfortable building structure where needed.
- Experience selling into corporate energy buyers or utilities.
- Familiarity with renewable energy procurement, PPAs, EACs, or energy markets.
- Understanding of ESG reporting, carbon accounting, or emerging 24/7 clean energy standards.
