Central Missouri Coordinator - Maries/Phelps Counties
Renew Missouri is advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency through policy research,
education of key decision makers, public education, coalition building, and regulatory oversight. Our
mission is to advocate for clean energy access to all Missourians.
Job Summary:
The Central Missouri Coordinator - Maries/Phelps Counties - will provide policy and developmental
support to Renew Missouri’s efforts to promote the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency policy throughout Maries and Phelps Counties. The Central Missouri Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the organization’s mission is being met through coalition building, policy advocacy, and education of decision-makers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Coalition Building: Build support for Renew Missouri’s mission with communities and stakeholder organizations, including businesses, community groups, and governmental bodies.
• Policy Promotion: Educate decision-makers at the municipal and county levels about the
community benefits of clean energy projects.
• Campaign Organizing: Develop and manage public campaigns to achieve policy priorities, including organizing stakeholders, creating campaign documents and web resources, and tracking campaign progress.
Job Qualifications:
• A strong passion for renewable energy and energy efficiency is required.
• Preferred 1-2 years of experience with energy policy, non-profit management, volunteer
engagement, and government relations. Educational background and degree equivalence will be
considered in lieu of this experience.
• Advanced knowledge in software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Power Point. Also,
must be willing to be trained in other programs.
• Ability to motivate, delegate, train and work well with team members on an ongoing basis.
• Public speaking experience with the ability to draft and deliver direct testimony is necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
• This is a part-time position up to twenty-nine hours per week. Working hours are flexible.
• Must be willing to live in or move to Maries or Phelps Counties. Traveling to Jefferson City,
Columbia, and/or out of the state for conferences and meetings may also be necessary. Working
outside of traditional hours may be required.
• Salary Range: Part-time salary is hourly from $20-$30 per hour.
• This position reports directly to the Renew Missouri Executive Director James Owen, based out
of Columbia.
