Location: Remote — Anywhere in the U.S. within 1 hour of a major airport
Travel: Extensive national travel, Monday–Friday most weeks
Reports To: National Technical Service Leader


Position Overview

A leading manufacturer of high-efficiency commercial HVAC and hydronic solutions is seeking a Regional Service Manager II to support advanced heat pump, refrigeration, and decarbonization-focused technologies. This role serves as a technical authority and field escalation resource, supporting customers, internal service teams, and emerging product platforms across North America.

The ideal candidate is a deeply hands-on technical professional with strong field judgment, able to operate independently while applying direction to complex, real-world service environments. This position carries no direct reports and plays a critical role in system performance, customer confidence, and technical knowledge transfer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for commercial heat pump systems, refrigeration cycles, and low-carbon HVAC technologies
  • Support system start-ups, commissioning, and advanced troubleshooting of commercial HVAC and hydronic equipment
  • Deliver owner and customer training during start-ups and site visits, clearly explaining system operation and best practices
  • Act as a technical escalation point for regional field service teams, with a primary focus on heat pump and refrigeration-related issues
  • Troubleshoot and support systems utilizing building automation and communication protocols, including:
    • BACnet
    • Modbus
    • Anybus
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of electrical fundamentals related to commercial HVAC equipment
  • Support new product introductions and emerging technologies tied to energy efficiency and decarbonization initiatives
  • Manage customer interactions professionally while representing high technical and service standards
  • Handle inbound technical calls while traveling, when safe to do so
  • Maintain organized schedules, documentation, and follow-up actions
  • Coordinate personal travel arrangements and submit expense reports per company policy


Required Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in commercial HVAC systems, with emphasis on:
    • Heat pumps
    • Refrigeration loops and refrigeration cycle fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with building automation and communication protocols:
    • BACnet
    • Modbus
    • Anybus
  • Solid understanding of electrical principles related to HVAC equipment
  • Experience supporting field start-ups, commissioning, and owner training
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt technical guidance to varied field conditions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to customers and internal teams
  • Comfort with extensive travel and a field-based, customer-facing role


Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial HVAC service, field engineering, or technical support background
  • Experience supporting new or emerging HVAC technologies, particularly those tied to energy efficiency or decarbonization
  • Prior experience serving as a technical escalation resource or subject-matter expert
  • Familiarity with hydronic systems and boiler/heat pump integration
