Key Account Manager – Energy (DACH)

Our client is a global industrial technology company specialising in networking, computing, and automation solutions for mission-critical applications. Within its energy division, the company supports customers across renewable energy, battery energy storage, and substation automation as the sector undergoes rapid digital transformation


Role Overview:

The Key Account Manager Energy is responsible for acquiring and growing selected key accounts with repeatable, high-volume, and profitable business across the DACH region. Working closely with internal stakeholders and channel partners, the successful candidate will build trusted relationships, execute account strategies, and deliver effective solutions that meet customers' evolving needs in the energy market


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell the company's energy product and service portfolio to assigned key accounts within target markets such as renewable energy, battery energy storage, and substation automation
  • Achieve and exceed sales quotas and business targets, using personal networks and qualified leads to identify new key account opportunities
  • Define, align, and execute a strategic plan for each key account, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Develop the broader key account ecosystem, including system integrators, EPCs, consultants, and investors
  • Identify, qualify, propose, and close new business opportunities, ensuring smooth delivery and high customer satisfaction
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and market intelligence on competitors, partners, and key applications to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Represent the company at relevant energy market exhibitions and collaborate closely with internal teams and distribution partners


Key Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of relevant sales / key account management experience, including direct face-to-face customer engagement (senior-level candidates: 10+ years, with experience in wireless and Ethernet technologies)
  • Strong knowledge of the industrial communication and computing market, business practices, and account development within Europe
  • Experience in industrial energy applications (e.g. substations, renewables, battery energy storage systems) is an advantage
  • Proven ability to manage complex customers, markets, and partners, with a track record in prospecting and value-added sales techniques
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills, up to C-level, in a multicultural environment
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel (approx. 40%)
