Seeking a full-time Family Law Attorney to join its growing practice in Georgetown, Texas. The attorney will independently manage a family law caseload from initial client consultation through resolution, handling matters involving divorce, custody disputes, support issues, modifications, enforcement actions, and related family law proceedings.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, preparing cases for trial, and appearing regularly in court.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of family law matters.
- Conduct client consultations and case evaluations.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
- Prepare and respond to discovery.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations.
- Represent clients during hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on case strategy.
- Provide practical legal advice while maintaining a high level of client service.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in family law.
- Ability to independently manage all phases of a family law case.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement documents.
- Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
