About Recoolit

Recoolit is a category-defining climate tech startup that has pioneered a new approach to superpollutant reduction through high-integrity refrigerant destruction credits. We work in emerging markets to collect and destroy high-GWP refrigerants with full traceability on our MRV platform, leading to recognition as a market leader, including a multi-year credit offtake with Google. We are currently scaling up in Indonesia, our first operating market, and expanding internationally.

The Role

This is a role for a high-agency generalist who wants to work at the center of a fast-moving climate startup, alongside the founders. You'll pitch in wherever the company needs you most: carbon sales and project development, international expansion, and day-to-day business operations.

This is a rare chance to learn the carbon markets from the inside while having real impact early in a company's life.

We're looking for someone with roughly 3–7 years of experience who is a fast learner, comfortable with ambiguity, and has a track record of getting things done. Previous experience in carbon credit project development or sales is a strong plus, but not a requirement. You should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to dig into the details, and also building scalable processes to automate work.

What you'll do

  • Carbon market & methodology work: Contribute to Project Design Documents (PDDs), registry submissions, and the documentation and processes that keep our credits high-integrity and audit-ready.
  • Carbon sales: Support and help close sales of our carbon credits, from prospecting and building materials to sitting in on (and eventually leading) buyer conversations.
  • International partnerships: Help develop and manage relationships with partners, registries, and stakeholders as we expand into new countries.
  • International operations: helping bring new countries up to speed, helping set and manage OKRs and processes for international operations, aligning processes and sharing learnings across multiple countries.
  • Business operations and finance: helping with marketing and PR for the company, working with our external bookkeepers and tax preparers, helping prepare financial models.
  • Whatever moves the mission: Working closely with the founders, you'll regularly take on high-priority projects that don't fit neatly into any one function.

What we look for

  • Roughly 3–7 years of professional experience in a US or international context, ideally including commercial, strategy, consulting, operations, or partnership-oriented work.
  • Relevant industry experience is a strong plus but not required, especially commercial experience in carbon credit sales or the voluntary carbon market. Being comfortable with financial modelling is also a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; you can produce a clear, rigorous document and hold your own in a sales or partnership conversation.
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership end to end, and is comfortable juggling very different kinds of work in the same week.
  • Comfortable working across time zones and cultures with a globally distributed team, including colleagues and partners in Indonesia. Some international travel is required.
  • Values alignment: you are constantly learning, operate with transparency, take ownership, act as part of a team, and are motivated by climate impact.

Recoolit offers competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and the chance to make an outsized impact on the fight against climate change early in our journey. If you want to do the most important work of your career alongside a small, ambitious team, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: Remote. Some international travel should be expected. Candidates in the US will be prioritized, but exceptional candidates outside the US (preferably in US-friendly timezones) will also be considered. Our co-founders are based in SF and NY, so if you’re in one of those cities it’s a plus.
