Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Vientiane for a Social Forestry National Consultant. The consultant will be tasked with providing expert advice on forestry-related projects, ensuring the implementation of sustainable forest management practices, and conducting environmental impact assessments to support decision-making. The consultant will collaborate closely with local communities, governmental bodies, and stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable forestry initiatives, contributing to the shared mission of advancing sustainable and responsible forest landscapes.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in Forestry and Sustainable Forest Management
  • Experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Proficiency in Consulting and providing actionable solutions
  • Knowledge of tree species and their management in the context of social forestry
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work on-site and actively engage with local communities
  • Experience with forestry policies in the Asia-Pacific region is an advantage
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Forestry, Environmental Studies, or a related field
