About Razom We Stand:

Razom We Stand is an international advocacy organisation working to accelerate Europe’s transition from dependence on Russian oil and gas, and from fossil fuels in general, towards a clean, democratic, and equitable energy system.

We work where climate, energy security, and geopolitics meet, with a special focus on Europe and frontline countries like Ukraine. Our team is small but global, and we care deeply about both impact and how we work together with trust, respect, and a lot of mutual support.

If you care about peace in Ukraine, climate justice, energy independence, and democratic values-and you enjoy turning complex issues into clear, powerful stories-then this might be an extremely good fit for you.

About the Job:

As Communications Officer, you will play a key role in our international Comms team.

You’ll help us:

  • Plan and deliver communications around our key campaigns;
  • Reach journalists, partners, and decision-makers with strong, timely messages;
  • Turn research and policy into stories that people can relate to;
  • Leverage partnerships and coalitions to multiply impact

You won’t do this on your own, but you will work with more experienced colleagues in communications, campaigns, and policy who can provide you with context, feedback, and help to learn. This position is for someone happy to take charge but also wants to ask questions and learn along the way.

What You’ll Do:

1. Campaign Communications

  • Work with campaigners and the Head of Communications to convert campaign plans into clear communication plans about who we talk to, what we say, when, and how.
  • Help create simple, strong messages for a range of different audiences-from EU policymakers and key decision-makers through to journalists and communities.
  • Monitor and create plans around the timing of significant political and media events- votes, summits, reports, and help us be prepared with the right message at the right time.

2. Media Relations

  • Write press releases, statements, and pitches, and outreach to journalists about our campaigns, reports and other communications outputs.
  • Build and maintain media lists of, and relationships with, reporters interested in energy, climate, sanctions, Ukraine, and European politics.
  • Follow up on pitches in a friendly way, and help set up interviews and briefings for our spokespeople.
  • Assist in running online press briefings or media calls for major launches, ensuring the journalists’ needs are met.

3. Content & Editorial Support

  • Write and edit a variety of materials: press releases, FAQs, web pages, newsletter content, talking points, basic op-eds with support, and campaign copy.
  • Help make reports and briefings more readable and media-friendly.
  • Work with designers, translators, and others to keep schedules on track and ensure that everyone knows what to do.
  • Make sure everything we put out feels like Razom We Stand: based on facts, easy to get and respectful.

4. Digital Communications

  • Support our digital media team to translate our key messages into posts, threads, short videos, and updates.
  • Share your ideas for creative ways to tell our campaign stories online.
  • Support digital communications colleagues with texts for assets such as graphics, quote cards, and short clips
  • Support the digital team during holiday coverage by drafting and organising social media posts on our channels

5. Partner Support

  • Keep regular contact with communications colleagues in partner organisations and coalitions, helping to coordinate what we say and when.
  • Contribute to joint statements, shared media moments, and co-branded content so we amplify each other’s work.
  • Help assemble useful toolkits-sample posts, quotes, images, and templates for press releases that make it easier for others to amplify our communications.
  • Help partners during key campaign moments-when Razom We Stand is playing a big role.

6. Timely contributions, rapid response

  • Follow news and social media relevant to our work, flagging opportunities, attacks or risks to the comms and campaign leads.
  • Support on the drafting of rapid reaction PRs, statements, and internal notes in case of an urgent or unexpected happening.
  • This role will help keep the basic crisis and rapid-response processes current and user-friendly for colleagues.

7. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track where and how our work shows up in the media: reach, outlets, geography.
  • Contribute to reports after the campaign or key moments that capture what we did, what went well, and what we would do differently next time.
  • Help keep shared tools-media and contact lists, monitoring trackers-updated and easy to use for everyone.

8. Teamwork

  • Work with the Head of Communications, Digital Communications Manager and Ukraine Communications Specialist
  • Work with your colleagues based in Ukraine and elsewhere to ensure that national and international communications reinforce each other.
  • Keep our shared resources organised and accessible: documents, templates, brand and messaging guidelines, and media lists.
  • Contribute to a team culture in which asking for help is okay, feedback is given and received, and we care about each other as people, not just colleagues.

Who You Are:

Experience

  • You have around 3-6 years of experience in communications, media, campaigns, or journalism, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • You have worked on campaigns involving more than one media or method (digital, etc.).
  • You have solid experience writing press outputs and working with press contacts.
  • You have experience writing and editing for the public.

  • You know how the media works, and you want to grow skills and impact.
  • You’re organised: you can handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-moving environment
  • You are comfortable using digital tools (social platforms, email tools, shared drives, basic analytics) and open to learning new ones.
  • Media monitoring experience, ideally with tools like Meltwater, Cision, or Muck Rack
  • You enjoy working with people from different backgrounds, and you value respect, patience, and clear communication.

Bonus Points

  • You have experience working in international groups or European media.
  • You know about climate and energy, sanctions, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe.
  • You have worked in international NGOs relevant to our fields.

What We Offer

  • Meaningful work: Through your work, you will be directly contributing to achieving a just peace in Ukraine, climate justice, energy security, and a safer, fairer Europe. A small international team that values kindness, trust, and shared responsibility.
  • Space to grow your skills in campaigns, media work, and international advocacy, supported by more experienced colleagues.

The benefits resulting from this include:

  • 24 days of annual vacation time, plus an extra day off on your birthday.
  • Eight annual sick/personal leave days.
  • Four extra bank holidays every year.
  • End-of-year leave: December 30 – January 2,
