VP of Capital Markets & Investor Relations
The Opportunity
A Silicon Valley–based deep-tech startup developing the "Holy Grail" of energy storage: next-generation, all-solid-state batteries. We are at a critical inflection point as we transition from technical breakthrough to global commercialization.
We are seeking a VP of Capital Markets & Investor Relations to act as a strategic partner to our CEO. This is a high-stakes, investor-facing role designed for a "dealmaker" who can navigate the complexities of deep-tech fundraising. You will lead our $30–60M global capital raise, shaping our market narrative and engaging the world’s most sophisticated VCs and strategic investors.
The Role
Unlike a traditional finance or accounting-focused CFO, this role is built around fundraising execution, relationship management, and market credibility. You will be the primary architect of our capital strategy and the lead storyteller to the investment community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Global Fundraising: Drive the end-to-end execution of a $30M–$60M capital raise, from identifying lead investors to managing due diligence and closing.
- Strategic Narrative: Translate complex electrochemical and material science concepts into a compelling investment thesis that highlights our path to scale and market disruption.
- Investor Relations & Advocacy: Proactively manage and expand a network of Tier-1 VCs, sovereign wealth funds, and strategic corporate investors (Automotive, Energy, Tech).
- CEO Partnership: Serve as a core advisor to the CEO on valuation, cap table strategy, and external positioning.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor the battery and climate-tech landscape to ensure Lasagna.one remains the preferred choice for energy storage capital.
What We’re Looking For
- Silicon Valley Network: You have deep, existing relationships with partners at top-tier venture firms and growth equity funds.
- Proven Track Record: You have personally led or played a primary role in raising $20M+ rounds for high-growth startups.
- Deep-Tech Fluency: You aren’t afraid of the science. You can sit with our engineering team and then pivot to explain our competitive moat to a non-technical GP.
- Execution Focus: You thrive on the "hustle" of a fundraise—managing the pipeline, refining the deck, and closing the deal.
- Experience Plus: Direct experience in the battery, EV, or hardware/deep-tech sectors is highly preferred.
