Relationship Manager, Benelux & Eastern Europe

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Relationship Manager, BENELUX & EASTERN EUROPE is responsible for managing a broad range of key relationships that are relevant to advancing our mission in the BENELUX & EASTERN EUROPE markets. In this capacity the individual leads on the development and implementation of regional market and related account strategies, in line with the organizational business development plans. The individual is also responsible for positioning Rainforest Alliance as a sustainability partner for organizations and platforms in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Revenue Growth: Responsible for delivering existing and new business in BENELUX & EASTERN EUROPE to reach revenue goals from certification royalty and other fees;
  • Regional Strategy: Leads development and implementation of growth strategy for all Rainforest Alliance services in the BENELUX & EASTERN EUROPE market, within goals set in the Corporate Engagement & Partnership plan;
  • Obtains market intelligence and monitors developments in the market to identify growth opportunities and risks; works across teams to build on opportunities and handle risks (e.g. Advocacy, Communications, Regions)
  • Key Accounts & Prospects: Maintains relationships with key customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and loyalty toward the organization;
  • Develops and implements account strategies building on medium- to long-term customer needs to enhance opportunity for growth and impact; within account plans, regularly reviews progress against commitments; investigates opportunities for collaboration and proactively addresses supply chain and sector risks;
  • Works across relevant teams and configures product-and-services solutions with associated contractual terms that meet customer needs;
  • For global key accounts based in BENELUX & EASTERN EUROPE, supports relationship managers globally to ensure coordination and to increase opportunities;
  • Internal Collaboration: Leads cross-departmental conversations on selected themes relevant to the success of the organization’s products in the market;
  • People Management: Leads the regional team ensuring creation and implementation of account plans and achievements of objectives;
  • Positioning RA in market: Develops network of key contacts with relevant market partners, organizations and platforms within BENELUX to promote the organization and enhance its reputation;
  • Represents the organization at events and relevant platforms;
  • Other duties, as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business Economics, International Development, Sustainability, Communications or related;
  • Experience in global supply chain management for food & agriculture and/or sustainability sector
  • Demonstrated ability (7-10 years) in customer relations, developing and implementing market development plans, key account and/or project strategies
  • Confirmed experience establishing and maintaining successful account relationships within corporate sector;
  • Team player; Strategic and analytical thinker; Strong communication and relationship management skills;
  • Business fluency in English. Dutch and an Eastern European language a plus;
  • Willingness & ability to travel up to 20% of time.
  • Open to applicants based in Europe, working from Benelux preferred
