As part of our Group Sustainability team, we're looking for a passionate and strategic Climate Change Adviser to help strengthen our resilience to climate change, identify new opportunities, and ensure we meet evolving climate reporting and governance requirements.

This is a unique opportunity to influence decision making across a diverse portfolio of businesses and play a key role in embedding climate considerations into RAC's strategy, operations, and risk management frameworks.

This role is offered on an initial 12month Maximum Term Contract.

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Group Sustainability, you will bring specialist climate expertise to support RAC's sustainability and climate objectives. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to identify and assess climate-related risks and opportunities, support mandatory climate reporting requirements, and drive climate-aligned strategies and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders across RAC to advance climate objectives and initiatives.
  • Facilitating climate risk and opportunity assessments and supporting scenario analysis activities.
  • Embedding climate considerations into risk management, strategic planning, and business decision-making processes.
  • Managing climate-related data, reporting metrics, and disclosure requirements.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of RAC's Climate Transition Plan.
  • Partnering with Finance teams to assess climate-related financial impacts, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinating and managing relationships with external consultants and subject matter experts.

About You

You're a collaborative and commercially aware sustainability professional who can translate complex climate concepts into practical business outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • A degree in Sustainability, Climate Change, Environmental Science, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in climate or sustainability reporting, including frameworks such as AASB S2, TCFD, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and assessing climate-related risks and opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with external consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management, scenario modelling, and climate-related business impacts.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels.
