Role Description

The Solar PV Project Manager is a full-time, hybrid role between site and our Hamilton office. This role is responsible for managing solar PV projects from initial planning through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating design and installation activities, supervising contractors and site teams, managing project schedules and budgets, and overseeing material procurement and delivery. The Solar PV Project Manager will conduct site inspections, monitor installation quality, ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications, and resolve technical or logistical issues. The role also involves liaising with clients and internal stakeholders, preparing progress reports, managing risk and health and safety documentation, and supporting continuous improvement across solar PV and related sustainable energy projects.


Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills, including experience in solar PV or construction-related Project Management, with the ability to plan, execute, and close projects effectively.
  • Experience in expediting activities to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and services.
  • Proficiency in Inspection processes, including site inspections, quality checks, and compliance verification for solar PV installations and associated electrical works.
  • Logistics Management capabilities, including coordinating deliveries, managing supply chains, and organizing site resources to support project timelines.
  • Relevant technical background in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or building services; a degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of solar PV systems, grid connection requirements, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and site teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, use project management software, and produce clear reports and documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP)
