The Senior Scientific Officer (PO4) sits within the Wet Tropics Management Authority and leads the climate change, restoration and threatened species programs. You provide high quality advice and services to internal and external stakeholders, with astrong focus on climate adaptation, and mitigation projects. The role provides inspirational leadership. It is fast-paced and varied. You will be responsible for researching, reviewing, analysing and synthesising complex climate change information for advice for policy decision making; providing expert scientific technical support to assist the implementation of climate change activities and communication materials for the Authority, oversee field projects and manage contracts, technical reviews and reports. The positions required interprets and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external collaborators in government, research the public and potential funders to develop collaborative climate change programs.
