Ops Champion ("VP of Ops")

We’re dedicated to expediting the energy transition with sustainable home energy solutions accessible to all, aiming to assist 3 million households in making the transition by 2030. That’s why we're looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual who's ready to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible impact on the climate change challenge we're tackling head-on. Are you ready to rise to the challenge?

As our Ops Champion, you will turn everything between a customer’s signature and a warm home into one scalable, tech-enabled operation—bringing planning, logistics, installation, and field performance together to drive growth, quality, and profitability.

? What You'll Be Doing

Quatt is one of the largest and most ambitious heat pump companies in Europe. We build, sell, install, and service our own hardware in people's homes, 7 days a week. Our ceiling is operational.

Everything between a customer's signature and a warm house is yours: work preparation, planning and capacity, logistics and supply chain, and the installation network in the field. Today they behave like four machines with handovers between them, and most of what we lose gets lost in the handovers. You run them as one operation.

This is a building job, not a caretaking job. Using AI, we are getting all digital parts of the process of getting a heat pump or battery installed aided or automated using our own operating system: QuattOS.

For the many atoms that are left, we’re building the operation like a decentralised factory. Every install is a production line that happens to run in somebody's house. Take it apart the way you would take apart an assembly line: map each step, time it with a stopwatch, measure the waiting between the steps, then design the waste out, using Elon Musk’s algorithm to do so:

Question every requirement, including the ones we invented ourselves. Delete steps instead of optimising them. Simplify what survives, speed it up, and automate last.

You will have the freedom to challenge existing rules, test new operating models, and build the systems that allow us to scale.

What You Own

  • Work preparation. Turning a signed deal into a material list and job a crew can install without surprises. The information standard sales must meet, the tooling preparers work in, and the team's throughput. This function gets an order of magnitude faster on software you help build, not on headcount.
  • The plan. Full every day, stable enough to survive contact with reality, and built so that sales, support, and field teams can change it themselves inside guardrails you set.
  • Logistics and supply chain, warehouse to installation site. Stock levels, van stock, spare parts, carriers, warehousing, returns. Never short on install day, never sitting on inventory we financed for nothing. Both sides of that trade-off are yours.
  • The cost and the quality of every installation. What a job costs us, whether it finishes in one visit, and what the customer thinks when the crew drives away.
  • Installation capacity. How many crews we have next month and next quarter, by region and by product, matched to what sales will sell. You bring that to S&OP, and you defend it.
  • The installation network. Our own crews, freelancers, and partner companies. Rates, tiering, onboarding, performance management, and the decision on which mix we want.
  • A team of ~60 capable individuals.
  • Automation of your own function. Every process you inherit should be able to do more volume with the same people. Judge yourself on how much of the operation runs without a human in the loop.

What you're measured on

Some Of The Core Metrics

  • Cost per installation. Labour, materials, logistics, rework, wasted slots. Find the money and take it out.
  • Customer Satisfaction: ensuring the customer stays a fan.
  • Installations per crew per day. The largest single lever we have on unit economics.
  • First-time-right. The number that decides whether a job makes money
  • Working capital tied up in inventory

? Who you are

  • You have run a physical operation at scale and carried the cost line for it. A manufacturing line, a national installation business, a field service fleet, last mile. High volume, tight margins, real people in vans.
  • You have worked for consumers. Your operation ended at somebody's front door, with a private individual watching your team work in their home and rating them afterwards. Selling to businesses is a different sport.
  • An engineer, by degree or by instinct. You design the system that runs a smooth operation rather than managing your way around a broken one.
  • A systems thinker. You design the whole chain from lead to installed system as the machine that sells, installs, and services our products at scale.
  • An operator in equal measure. You will spend your first weeks in vans, on install sites, at a wholesaler, and next to a work preparer, not writing a strategy deck. When something is broken on site, you are not afraid to pick up a tool.
  • A builder, not a consultant. You have designed and run something yourself rather than advising other people on theirs. You have entrepreneurial blood, and if you have started a company, or intend to, that’s a pre!
  • A manager of managers who still gets into the details. You set the standard, you hold people to it, and you take the difficult conversation early. Hardcore, not harsh.
  • AI-native, or racing to get there. You use AI daily, build your own tools when the tool does not exist.
  • Direct and specific.
  • In the office, with a high work ethic. We build together, in person, five days a week. Installs start early, and some of them end late, and on a Saturday, when a crew is stuck, you pick up the phone.
