Portfolio Operations Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Portfolio Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of solar and energy storage assets, ensuring optimal performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong relationship management abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Asset Management and Performance Optimization
- Manage O&M cases, ensuring efficient resolution of operational issues
- Lead project handoff processes from development to operations
- Manage customer/Off taker relationships as the primary point of contact
- Oversee EMS subscription management and utility bill sourcing
- Coordinate periodic inspections and preventive maintenance visits
- Manage spare parts inventory and logistics at the project level
- Monitor the alerts of the operating portfolio and coordinate with the O&M partners to schedule corrective maintenance visits.
- Contribute to O&M service offering planning and contract management
- Assist in developing operating budget for projects in the pipeline
- Support operating expense estimation tool development
2. Technical Operations and Stakeholder Management
- Lead hardware and EMS technical support initiatives (Tier 1)
- Manage the warranty claim process to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Manage operating expenses withing the allocated budget of the project, document control and reporting
- Assist in developing Asset Management service offerings
- Provide input on safety planning initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy asset management
- Strong technical knowledge of solar and energy storage systems
- Proficiency in EMS systems and utility bill management
- Excellent project management and customer relationship skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Experience with performance monitoring and reporting tools
- NABCEP certification preferred

The Distributed Energy (DE) team develops, invests in, and delivers distribution-connected solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in North America. The DE team offers the full spectrum of BESS and PV+BESS solutions – from integrated ESS hardware and software, project development and investment to asset management and operations.
