POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As the Sr. Systems Engineering Manager at Hanwha Q CELLS America, you will lead the designing, planning, executing and reporting of our testing, qualification, performance and release of new products and help to integrate various components such as Inverters, Batteries, EV Chargers, MLPE and other hardware/software items into a seamless system level solution. You will also work closely with the sales and marketing teams on technical marketing, competitor analysis, and customer support in North America. This current position is expected to be the interface between the factories and the customers, making sure customers’ expectations regarding product quality and technical support are met. This position reports to the Head of Systems Engineering or another senior management personnel that the President. This position will be based out of Santa Clara, CA R&D Center. The role requires on-site presence Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. The position requires up to 20% travelling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the team for designing, planning, executing and reporting of our testing, qualification, performance and release of new products and help to integrate various components such as Inverters, Batteries, EV Chargers, MLPE and other hardware/software items into a seamless system level solution.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams on technical marketing, competitor analysis, and customer support in North America.
- Interface between the factories and the customers, making sure customers’ expectations regarding product quality and technical support are met.
- Lead the Pre-Sales application engineering team support to the residential sales team, with respect to providing application-related knowledge to customers and assisting customers in their project designs, constructions, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and warranty coverage.
- Provide product training and promote Qcells solutions to customers and the sales team; represent Qcells at trade shows and conferences.
- Stay up to date on PV/ESS technologies and industry trends by taking part in technical meetings and industry shows.
- Take assignments with a sense of urgency; deliver solutions and results in a timely manner; can-do mentality, pro-active working attitude, and hands-on approach.
- Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Science or Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in Residential PV or Energy solutions or Power Electronics.
- Experience in program management and reporting is required.
- Strong communication skills with customers, management, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Background in defining, reviewing and testing Software, Apps for UI/UX is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Leadership skills in Project and Test Engineering skills in the Residential Energy segment.
- Experience with testing, programming and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
- Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong professional integrity and sense of ownership of assignments.
- Self-motivation requires minimum supervision and has a proven track record of reliability and work ethics.
- Good business acumen; strong sense of technical issues, customer service, and business result relationships.
- Flexible, team-player, attention-to-detail, pro-active, and responsible working attitudes.
