POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a driven and experienced Business Planning & Operations Manager to join the Grid & Energy Service (G&ES) Business Unit. This role is responsible for managing full P&L accountability, ensuring profitability, and driving sustainable growth. The manager will lead business planning and operational activities, including forecasting, cost estimation, and defining transaction structures for software-based solutions, primarily within the US market.
This position demands strong financial acumen and operational expertise, with the ability to develop and deliver clear, insightful executive-level reports that support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely across teams to optimize processes and improve overall business performance.
Fluency in English is essential for effective communication, while bilingual proficiency in Korean is preferred to support collaboration within our diverse and global organization. This role suits a proactive, analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This position is based in Santa Clara, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full P&L responsibilities for the assigned business unit ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Forecast and estimate costs for software-based solutions.
- Define the transaction structure for software-based solutions, whether with Hanwha affiliates or external partners
- Business operations and strategic planning activities to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Create and provide insightful, accurate, and timely materials for executive/C‑level report preparation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to support business objectives and operational improvements.
- Support forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
- Perform ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed to support business priorities, address emerging challenges, and facilitate strategic initiatives across the organization.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance operational workflows.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Typically, between 5 - 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
- Proven experience managing P&L responsibilities, preferably in a US-based software company.
- Excellent reporting skills for executive-level; word and presentations.
- Verbal and written communication skills – In-depth; bilingual in Korean

- Data-driven decision making – In-depth.
- Spreadsheet (Excel) mastery.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- CPA preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- post-secondary degree in a related field of study; MBA preferred.
- Experience in P&L management within a US software company is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with strategic business planning tools and software.
