Product Manager, Software
Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As the Product Manager, Software at Hanwha Q CELLS America, you will assist the definition of roadmap, qualification, release process of new products, in particular to Software based UI/UX tools. You will also work closely with the sales and marketing teams on technical marketing, competitor analysis, and customer support in North America. This current position is expected to be the interface between the factories and the customers, making sure customers’ expectations on product qualities and technical supports are met.
This position reports to the Head of Residential Engineering or another senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. The position is based in Santa Clara and will require to be in office Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. The position requires up to 20% traveling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Align with the global internal organizations (global R&D, global product management, global quality management, etc.) and factories on technology roadmap, product offers, product features, and product introduction timelines
- Own the product introduction process in the North American markets, including product listing, third party qualification, product document preparation, and training materials for both internal and external use.
- Align with the factories the manufacturing plan, capacity allocation, production timeline, and product performance projection. Communicate with good clarity to sales and customers of such plans and projections.
- Coordinate between factories and customers on factory audits, facility visits, product inspections, and testing
- Assist factories and customers on product quality troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and formulating solutions
- Develop application eco-system for customers with external BOS partners (e.g. inverter, micro-inverter, optimizer, racking) and vendors (advanced materials) to support the product roadmap and to demonstrate the advantages of the products of Qcells
- Application engineering support to the residential sales team, with respect to providing application-related knowledge to customers and assisting customers in their project designs, constructions, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and warranty coverage
- Provide product training and promote Qcells solutions to customers and the sales team; represent Qcells at trade shows and conferences
- Manage product lifecycle, including product definition, assist product development, product introduction, and retirement
- Stay up to date on PV technologies and industry trends by taking part in technical meetings and industry shows
- Take assignments with a sense of urgency; deliver solutions and results in a timely manner; can-do mentality, pro-active working attitude, and hands-on approach
- Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelors degree in physical science or engineering with 8+ years of experience, or a Masters degree in physical science or engineering with 5+ years of experience, in the PV industry.
- Must be an expert and in touch with the state-of-the-art regarding solar inverters, batteries, and power electronics.
- Familiarity with US product safety and building codes, as well as PV and racking certification standards
- Experience using applications, system design
- Experience in defining, reviewing and testing Software, Apps for UI/UX
- Good communication skills with customers, management, and internal teams
- Excellent command of English

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
