Permit Specialist

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Axia by Qcells seeks an energetic and proven Permit Specialist to prepare, submit and manage a pipeline of applications for the Energy Solutions division. Applications will be submitted as needed to various Utilities, Building Departments and Homeowner Associations. As a Permit and Interconnection Specialist, you will work with our customer advocates to gather necessary preconstruction approval and post construction approvals in order to permit and interconnect residential solar systems. Major responsibilities include defining licensing, permitting requirements, and engineering requirements, experience in solar operations is a must. This position will be based in the QCELLS North America headquarters in Irvine, CA, remote options may also be available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare permit applications accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with processes related to permitting both pre- and post- installation
  • Compile and submit permit packages, adhering to municipal code
  • Collaborate with all internal teams as necessary to ensure project process flow
  • Work with management team to improve processes
  • Maintain AHJ database with AHJ permitting requirements
  • Submit permit applications in person where required by AHJ
  • Submit post installation as-built revisions as requested by Field Operations Team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required level of job knowledge to do the job
  • 2-5 years experience in solar operations
  • Demonstrate track record with problem solving
  • Experience within a solar markets team
  • Detailed analytical thinker
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to present credit management vision and strategy in internal and external forums
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment
  • Mission-focused team player

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
