POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Manager, Licensing Operations, will serve as an integral part of the team performing case management duties within the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and organizing cases as well as communicating updates and needs to other teams to allow for accountability and to pursue a strategy for case resolution. This role requires an individual with applicable management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, compliance-driven environment.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key Task Management:
    • Licensing: Oversee and track the progress of submitted licenses, ensuring timely and accurate updates; Track budget submission
    • File state annual reports and renewals
    • Manage state direct licensing examinations
  • Cross-Team Accountability: Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the required actions are completed promptly.
  • Escalation Handling: Identify escalated cases, follow established protocols, and collaborate with the legal team to determine the next steps.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with diverse internal and external clients to ensure excellence in complaint resolution, compliance, documentation, and customer experience.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues identified during annual state regulatory examinations, which may involve significant financial impacts, fraud, or misrepresentation.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with internal staff, departments, and managers to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Team Leadership: Proactively mentor and coach junior team members to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Physical Mail Management: Ensure timely completion of physical mail processes to meet regulatory forwarding requirements.
  • Performance Standards: Meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work, particularly with complex and sensitive customer information.
  • Meetings and Audits: Actively participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and audits as required.
  • Case Oversight: Address inquiries and manage both existing and new cases, escalating issues to leadership when necessary to ensure compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, management or other related field, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a management role within a finance or operations environment.
  • Proficiency in NMLS data and system, Jira and SharePoint.
  • Proven experience in management, preferably in a compliance or licensing environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced, and regulatory-driven setting.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining compliance and delivering high-quality results.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solar financing experience
  • Master's degree
  • Experience working with the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC)
  • CRCM, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
