EQUIPMENT ENGINEER (SPARE PARTS & BUDGET MANAGEMENT)
Reports to: Equipment General Manager
Location: Dalton, GA
Classification: Salary (Exempt)
SUMMARY
The Equipment Engineer (Spare Parts & Budget Management) is responsible for managing spare parts and drawings for machinery to support the whole production lines with collaboration of cross-functional teams such as engineering teams, purchasing, and logistics team. This role also supports budget management and cost-saving items in regard to spare parts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Spare parts management with individual engineers having responsibility for each machine
- Manage inventory quantities Daily/Weekly/Monthly by plant and by major equipment groups.
- Create, modify, extend, and delete material codes using SAP.
- Create and manage Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports for any purchase requests, purchase orders, ETA, receiving, and shipping using internal purchasing system.
- Major Equipment Drawing Management
- Collect and manage equipment-specific drawings.
- Secure new supplier drawings and request/secure existing supplier drawings in both Korean and English.
- Incoming Items Specification and Quality Verification
- Check quality and specifications of incoming items in collaboration with engineers, purchasing, and logistics teams.
- Identification of Reparable Spare Parts and Cost-Saving Items
- Search for suppliers and evaluate pre/post repair performance in collaboration with purchasing team.
- Analyze and implement cost-saving measures for key consumables and expensive parts including MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity).
- Investment WBS Code Creation and Progress Management
- Create new project WBS using SAP.
- Manage budget execution according to approval rules and procedures for each investment category.
- Communicate with Purchasing team regarding purchase requests, logistics team regarding ETA, receiving/shipping, and finance team regarding cost repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or on-call support when necessary.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Strong communication skills between cross-functional teams for collaborative projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Korean for interpreting and communicating the parts requirements in the machine drawing with machine and parts suppliers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks, Invertors, etc.
- Proficiency in business systems such as SAP, WMS, etc.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing or semiconductor industry.
- Experience in supply chain field in high-volume industries.
