SUMMARY

We seek a detail-oriented and experienced production planner to create, modify, and manage production schedules. This role will ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution. The Production Planning Engineer’s responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers, and ensuring that production orders are completed on time and within budget.

These duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production, and monitoring the production process for problems. To be a successful production planner, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. The overall goal of this position is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for production, capacity, material planning, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, and scheduling activities to maximize schedule adherence, customer service, and delivery
  • Coordinate production workflow and manage the production team to meet scheduled goals
  • Led the organization in attaining key metrics, including working capital, inventory turns, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence.
  • Understand the department's key performance indicators and contribute to achieving these goals individually and as a team.
  • Evaluate raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Coordinate production operations by material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Trace the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve.
  • Use market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
  • Responsible for a formalized inventory cycle count control system to maintain accuracy and integrity
  • Analyze costs to ensure the production process stays within budget
  • Manage and flex material demand and flow through the purchasing program, allowing for forecast fluctuation and managing the business's growth while ensuring the timely availability of components
  • Determine human resources, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.)
  • Report on the production status and any production issues to upper management
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with other departments to ensure cohesiveness within the plant.
  • Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, and other staff
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the solar or semiconductor manufacturing industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Bilingual in Chinese or Korean preferred
  • Strong knowledge of materials and inventory control in manufacturing environments, including various levels of planning from Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to execution and control of production activity, transactional management, ECO implementation, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Kanban, purchasing,
  • warehousing, inventory control, scheduling, shipping and/or logistics
  • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing and processes related to the solar or semiconductor industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience related to production planning in the manufacturing industry
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills
  • Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees
  • Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and be willing to take the initiative to resolve problems and help revise and upgrade processes
  • Ability to travel overseas as required
