SUMMARY


Import & Customs Compliance Supervisor supports Qcells’ import operations by ensuring compliance with US Customs’ trade laws and regulations. This role is ideal for individuals with three to five years’ experience in brokerage and customs operations and that possess an extensive ability to learn and develop compliance opportunities and areas of improvement under the guidance of senior compliance staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze import documentation including Customs’ entry documents, invoices, bills of lading and packing lists.
  • Review, correct, and communicate HTS classifications of imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US (HTSUS).
  • Prepare and submit all necessary OGA documentation for customs clearances.
  • Help maintain accurate records of import transactions for compliance purposes.
  • Participate in Qcells and broker audits and compliance checks as directed.
  • Assist with presenting training sessions on customs regulations and procedures.
  • Communicate daily with customs brokers under contract.
  • Monitor governmental updates in regulations and directives and report findings to senior staff.
  • Advise on and publish effective trade policy, procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
  • Support supply chain security initiatives, implementations and annual submissions.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of CBP ruling requests.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, or law.
  • Certified Customs Specialist or Licensed Customs Broker or currently pursuing.
  • Employment history, internship or coursework related to international trade, trade compliance or brokerage preferred.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. Customs’ import regulations and trade concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to changing regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Prior working knowledge of the ACE portal.
  • Creating detailed reports in Microsoft Office applications.
