Water Treatment Engineer (UPW & Water Recycle)

The Water Treatment (UPW, Si-kerf Recycle) Facilities Engineer in the solar panel manufacturing industry is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Water Treatment facility. This role involves leading operators, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, implementing efficient maintenance strategies, and contributing to the overall optimization of Water Treatment facility operations. Additionally, the role involves budget planning and efficient management to achieve cost savings. This includes developing equipment maintenance plans considering cost-effectiveness and conducting efficient material management and procurement. Furthermore, the engineer applies environmentally friendly practices such as energy conservation and recycling to minimize operating costs and support sustainable business operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Must Have

1. Supervision and Team Management:

  • Manage a team of technicians for the operation and maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage the deployment of shift personnel to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Regularly report to Utility Team Leader on work progress and issues.

2. Facilities Operation Management:

  • Monitor and improve the operational performance of Water treatment facilities (UPW, Water Recycle, and Water transfer system) conducting daily, weekly, and monthly management of performance (cost and quality).
  • Analyze performance, identify improvement opportunities, and establish action plans.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports and propose effective solutions for individual and improvement.

3. Facilities Maintenance Management

  • Supervise day-to-day/routine preventative maintenance tasks on Water treatment system (UPW, Si-kerf Recycle, water transfer system)
  • Oversee plumbing, piping, and mechanical parts installations, changes, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Ensure that all preventative maintenance on Facilities equipment is performed according to the established schedule and SOP.
  • Compile and maintain records for all facilities equipment status, maintenance activities, and scheduled testing, including fire suppression systems.

4. Budget Formulation and Management

  • Oversee budget formulation for UT facility operations, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Monitor and Implement cost-saving activities to achieve KPI targets.


To Be Trained

1. Inventory (Spare Part, Chemical, Consumable) Management:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive spare part management system.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct proactive inventory planning to ensure an adequate supply of chemicals for Water treatment processes.
  • Anticipate chemical consumption patterns and adjust stock levels accordingly.

2. Emergency Response and Compliance:

  • Respond to plant emergencies related to environmental failures, fires, or security issues.

3. Training:

  • Deliver training and maintain the training record of Facility Technicians.

4. Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations of Hanwha QCELLS.
  • Develop and execute safety measures related to the operation and maintenance of UT facilities.

5. Others:

  • All other duties as assigned by management.

1. Relevant Certificate

  • Relevant certifications are preferred and will be considered a plus

2. Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

3. Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public or industrial water treatment, manufacturing, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of technicians.

4. Fluency in Korean is a plus.
